The Ark of the Covenant (or Ark) is a sacred chest that contains the original Ten Commandments and Aron's rod. The Ark is listed in the Holy Bible . The ark is approximately 2 1/4 feet wide ,3 3/4 feet long , and 2 1/4 feet tall. The Ark is made of acacia wood covered with pure gold .It is said who ever touched the ark would die instantly . God said ,"cast four rings of gold for it ,and attach them to its four feet ,two rings on each side. Make poles from acacia wood , and overlay them with gold . Fit the poles into the rings at the sides of the Ark to carry it. Between the cherubims (or angels ) is the "mercy seat" . The "mercy seat is also known as God's throne .It is said ,"where the Ark is , God is . The Ark has been held in places such as King Solomon's Temple and the Tabernacle .
