A Letter from HRH Queen of Belgium

A few days ago I received a letter from Palace DE Brussels . Receiving letters from royal residents (even if they are disappointing) is like a hobby to me. And it is pretty cool. All you have to do is to look up" official web site of the monarchy " and it will pull up the official web sites of all kinds of monarchies . Then you select "contact us" and get the address. After you do that, write a proper letter . Then you place it in a envelope and take it in the post office. It only costs about $1.50 . The web site of the UK monarchy is the most common . Then (as you see on the left) is the Belgium monarchy . This one was cool because they sent me the official portrait of the family on genuine photo paper. Monarchies that do that are usually very wealthy. They receive thousands of letters per day asking for photos. Can you imagine how much money that would cost? I will list the web site and the address below .

Saint Nicholas- Today's Santa Claus

The very word "Nicholas" means" victory of the people". Saint Nicholas was born on February 6, 270 and died on December 6, 346. Nicholas was the saint and the bishop of Myra . He had a reputation for secret gift-giving, such as putting coins in the shoes of those who left them out for him, and is now commonly identified with Santa Claus.

Nostradamus' 9/11 Prediction

Nostradamus was born in France in 1503 and published a collection of prophecies called "The Centuries" in 1555. Each four-line verse ,or "quatrain", foretells world events far into the future. Many quatrains have came true so far, but a little off. There is one prediction that people have been extremely curious about. This prediction even came with its own illustration(pictured on left). This prediction was supposed to come true on 1999 but came true on September 11,2001. When those words come up ,everyone gasps because that is the day that two brothers fell.

"Even more frightening is the following quatrain. Earth-shaking fire from the center of the earth. will cause the towers around the New City to shake, Two great rocks for a long time will make war, And then Arethusa (a ship) will color a new river red. " (Century 1, Quatrain 87,Nostradamus)

Nostradamus mentions of a "New City", which would relate to "New York City" and “the towers” which would relate to the twin towers.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was known all around the world after he succeded his mission. He was born on October 2, 1869. The British people loved India's treasures such as cotton ,salt, etc. Indians agreed with queen Victoria to establish British trading routes. Soon, Britian had taken control of India! After that, they made sevral laws that stated Indians would not be allowed to gather their own salt nor their cotton. They could only export the cotton to Britain so they could sell it to the Indians. Indians soon adopted British traditions. Others lived in poverty. The people of India grew angry.Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi solved this problem without hurting any one . He encouraged all the Indians to spin their own cotton. They did and then got arrested. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi told everyone to not fight back and they didn't. He also leaded several walks without violence . After many years , the Indians finally gained their rights and the British were forced out peacefully. Although, some Indians were angry with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. A angry Hindu assassinated Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi while praying on 30 January 1948 (aged 78)New Delhi, Union of India .

The Warriors of Today

What is the hardest occupation besides military service ? What would you choose ? Well , thoughts are leaning towards teachers. Teachers have so much on there chest each day. 70% of today's children have an urge to not follow directions and talk. Who has to put up with that and enforce it? Teachers have to. Every day the teachers have to plan lessons for five periods or more. After that they have to grade all those papers the students complete. My mom is a science teacher at Caramel Elementary and she has to wake up at five o'clock . You can't go to bed early because you get home so late and you have so much papers to grade. It is extremely hard having to be a teacher. The real teacher-warriors out there are the ones that are nice ,but tough at the same time. Those are the ones I would like to really thank for there service. That means you Mrs. P, Mrs. S, Mrs. Z, Mrs. G., Mr. H. , Mrs. C and all the others at Mill Creek and my other old school ! Thank you very much!

Harvard University

Over the years ,Harvard has been looked at as an elite college . Why you may ask, well because it is. Harvard has several separate schools such as schools of business ,law, etc. Harvard owns over 4,947 acres of land. On September 8, 1636, John Harvard established the first college in America , Harvard. About 1,900 faculty members attend each day. Harvard's motto is "veritas "which is Latin for "truth" . Its library holds over 16 million volumes . The current tuition is $32,557 not including board and student service fees. The 2007 financial income of Harvard is $3,210,506,00 . Harvard college currently has 6,700 students. If you ever meet an alumni from Harvard ,remember how hard they have worked to meet their goal. If you have ever went to college, you probably remember staying up late every night working on your studies. They had to work quadruple times that. So great job Harvard alumni and other alumni out there!
